CAPTAIN TSUBASA | SFIDASPECIAL COLLABORATION

"The Ball is My Friend"

This soccer manga by Yoichi Takahashi began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1981. It depicts the protagonist, Ozora Tsubasa, and his rivals as they devote themselves wholeheartedly to soccer. The series, including spin-offs, is still ongoing as of 2025, with the latest installment, Captain Tsubasa Rising Sun FINALS, currently being serialized on this website. It sparked a soccer boom in Japan and has influenced many soccer players around the world. The manga series has sold over 90 million copies in Japan.

With the concept of "The ball is your friend," we are helping to invigorate the Asian football scene, which has shown remarkable growth in recent years.

The Asian soccer market is showing remarkable growth, but the training environment is still insufficient. Therefore, Captain Tsubasa and the football brand SFIDA have joined forces, and with the concept of "The ball is a friend," they aim to develop soccer culture in Asia through initiatives centered on the soccer ball, a universal product.
We will also collaborate with the East Asian E-1 Football Championship 2025, national leagues, artists, street brands, and others to promote football culture in Asia.

Message from Professor Takahashi

I am very pleased that a ball named "TSUBASA" has been created through a collaboration between SFIDA and Captain Tsubasa, and that it will also be the official ball of the East Asian E-1 Football Championship 2025.

At this point, it is unclear what kind of members will be on the Japanese national team that will participate in the East Asian E-1 Football Championship 2025, but I think the team will likely be made up of players who are looking to establish themselves in the senior national team, as well as notable players who are making progress in overseas leagues or the J.League.

I hope that just like Ozora Tsubasa and the others, they will look forward and never give up no matter what the situation, and continue to fight towards their goals, and of course I hope that they will win.

In addition to the official tournament balls, we also have balls with original designs featuring illustrations, so we hope that many people, especially children, will enjoy playing soccer with these balls.
